Ticket Tips

Keeping You & Your Tickets Safe

One thing is for sure – you can never be too safe when it comes to your live event tickets. So, we’ve put together a few tips on how you can keep yourself and your tickets safe.

How To Protect Yourself from Ticket Scams

To help keep you safe from those selling illegitimate tickets, we put together our top 5 tips on how to protect yourself from ticketing scams.

Top 5 Tips to Stop Scammers

1. Only buy tickets from official sources. With any event, the official ticketing agent/s, venue, or the promoter’s official travel partner is the best place to buy tickets from. Check out the promoter or artist’s own website, as the official ticket source/s will always be listed there.

2. Avoid buying tickets from individuals on social media, telegram or other unofficial platforms.

3. Do not purchase tickets before a tour has gone on sale from unauthorised agents or ‘ticket service’ sellers on social media and telegram. These will not be legitimate tickets.

4. Always double-check your URL. When buying tickets with us, make sure you’re visiting Ticketmaster.sg. Beware of clicking through to sites from Google search results that may ‘look’ like Ticketmaster.

5. Be wary of printed tickets. Scammers can distribute copies of the same ticket to multiple buyers. Most of our tickets are mobile and include a rotating banner, so you know they’re legitimate. If you are buying from someone who is not Ticketmaster, insist they use our ticket transfer option – do not accept screenshots.

While these tips will help you to avoid ticketing scams, there is only one way of ensuring your tickets are legitimate, and that is to purchase them straight from Ticketmaster.sg

How to Secure Your Account and Protect Your Tickets

Ticketmaster is committed to being the safest, most reliable ticket marketplace in the world, and when it comes to your account, there are some vital steps you can take to protect against hackers looking to lay claim to your tickets.

Create a strong password

Make sure you’re using a strong password for your account. Your password should be unique to your Ticketmaster account, and therefore not used for any other accounts (banking, shopping sites, email, etc.). You can easily reset your password if you need to.

Update your phone number

Another good way to protect your tickets is to make sure the phone number associated with your Ticketmaster account is up to date. For extra security during a ticket purchase, you may also be asked to authenticate your account by inputting a code sent to your phone.

We also recommend that the phone number you use is only associated with one account. If you have more than one Ticketmaster account in your household, it’s best to use a different number for each account.

In general, it’s good to double-check that all the information in your account is correct.

There are steps you can take to secure your personal information outside of your Ticketmaster account, too. Here are some more recommendations:

Create a secure email password

Just like you want to make sure your Ticketmaster password is unique, you should do the same for your personal email. Make sure you’re using a strong, unique password there, too. If your email gets hacked, it could allow someone to use it to gain access to your Ticketmaster account.

Be cautious of scammers posing as Ticketmaster employees

If you ever run into issues with your account and need help, you can contact our Fan Support team. But be aware of scammers sharing fake information about Ticketmaster, including fake customer service phone numbers that appear in search engines.

Always make sure you get contact information from our official website. There are several ways to get in contact with us, and our dedicated Help page offers extensive information on frequently asked questions.

Finally, Ticketmaster will never ask you to buy a gift card in order to refund you. If we do issue a refund, we’ll process it to the original method of payment you used at the time of purchase.

Remember – if you’re unsure, you can contact us directly.
